This weekend was quite the adventure, we took Baby Girl on her first road trip!! Friday morning was completely hectic, Keiton had a review on campus and during the 2 hours he was gone I managed to get a shower in (little victories), get somewhat ready, clean up some major spit up (twice- like change of clothes for both me and baby bad), change a blow out, give baby a bath, make some sandwiches for the road, finish packing and soothed a crying baby. So when Keiton got home at 10:30 I was exhausted! We loaded the suitcase and the baby into the car and set out on our first big adventure. We were a little nervous about driving 4 hours but baby is such a good baby, she didn’t cry at all! It was so peaceful and Keiton and I loved that we could just talk and catch up all the way to Star Valley.
Baby Girl slept pretty much the whole way there :)
We came to Star Valley so we could go through the temple open house. It was SO much fun to go through and see this beautiful temple! Star Valley is so important to Keiton so it was really fun to see how excited he was taking me and baby girl through the first temple in Wyoming. He was as excited as I am when I go to Disneyland ;). It is a small temple but absolutely beautiful!
We had such a fun weekend in Star Valley It was pretty cold (no surprise there). We woke up on Saturday morning and there was a little snow. That was crazy because I haven’t even gotten my fall clothes out yet (boots and cardigans etc.) let alone winter clothes, so I came with open toed shoes and nearly froze all weekend! Even though I am not a fan of being cold, it is always worth it to go to Star Valley because Keiton is like a kid in a candy store on Christmas.
Our trip was a BLAST! Fourwheeling, the Women’s broadcast, and lots of lots of yummy food. Baby loved hanging out with her cousins.
Also, church was kind of a battle, Baby was fussy on and off all during Sacrament meeting and that is not usually like her! So we took her home after and this is what we found. Poor baby, it was SO gross! We just threw those little white pants away- at that point it's not even worth it!
That’s was pretty much the turning point of our weekend. . . . Due to a series of unfortunate events we had to leave Keiton’s car in Star Valley and take his mom’s car back to Utah. We drove home and the last 30 minutes baby girl was very fussy. We get home and hurry up the three flights of stairs so we could feed her and calm her down. We get to our front door and realized our key is on Keiton’s car keys that we had left in Star Valley… We were homeless- with a crying infant. We were tired and this was like the WORST thing ever!! Luckily my parents live 20 minutes away so we weren’t really homeless. Baby was lucky because we got to extend the vacation and she got stay at both grandparents houses in the same weekend. Even though having warm meals at night that we don’t have to make is super nice, Keiton and I are excited to get home!
(Eating my sorrows away, ready to be home after quite a few days away. I can't get over how lucky we are to have my parents close by, I don't know what we would have done!!)
